Allan Rohan Crite: All Glory

The oldest altar cards (and the finest) at St. Francis were done by Allan Rohan Crite (March 20, 1910 -September 6, 2007), a Boston artist famous for his 1946 painting Madonna of the Subway depicting a Black Holy Mother and baby Jesus riding Boston's Orange Line.

These pictures are taken from All Glory: Brush Drawing Meditations on the Prayer of Consecration (SSJE 1947).
