Due to the North Texas Ice Storm the SSC Mass for the Immaculate Conception was sparsely attended. But we still managed a Solemn High Mass: five priests in the Sanctuary and three servers from the parish made up the full compliment of Sacred Ministers and acolytes, I preached, a poor substitute for Fr. Crary, the parish organist and three choir members handled the chants, but just two priests and one lady in the pews. We belted out the 'Ave, ave, ave Maria' and other Marian hymns. The Mass was followed by a lovely meal prepared by ladies of the parish. 'Full of grace' all around and the Blessed Mother, quite used to grand things done in lowly circumstances, smiled on us all, we hope.
