The production of an Ordo Calendar is largely an exercise in humility. Claudette, the parish secretary, and I really do spend lots of time trying to get it right but we never succeed. First, we got numerous complaints that January 4th, a Friday, was listed as a day of abstinence. It does warm the heart that St. Francisfolk pay attention to the Friday Fast. On the other hand, I have never heard any grumbling, when a day of abstinence was left out. You will also note that the Sundays after the Epiphany are numbered incorrectly. The Baptism of the Lord is the First Sunday after the Epiphany and the following Sundays should be numbered accordingly. Please draw any other errors to my attention.
